about
Only Orbit was written in East Nashville at the height of Summer's crushing heat while staying at the family home of some dear friends who had high-tailed it to Brooklyn to see their folks. It was recorded on a nylon string guitar that was on loan from my brother, who lives in the same woods as we do. The photograph that was used for the artwork was taken two evenings before the recording, when the sun and clouds and sky had something very beautiful to share with anyone who would only look up.
lyrics
I do it all because I love you
and I want you by my side.
And above you, there is only sky.
Why do I do it at all,
do it when it is small,
my offering,
the words I sing about you?
I can only orbit what you are.
